Heilind Electronics was founded by Bob Clapp in 1974. Mr. Clapp has always believed strongly the value of specialization. He is also committed to ensuring the customer's voice is heard and their needs not merely met, but always exceeded. With these principles in mind, Heilind Electronics has been successful from the start. To further sharpen its focus, the company soon divided into two divisions - the original Heilind and the new DB Roberts - creating one organization for hardware and the other for interconnect components. The company, under the umbrella of The DAC Group, has developed into a nationwide network of branches covering the U.S. with several strategic acquisitions. The largest are Force Electronics, acquired in 1986 and Gateway Megatech, acquired in 1998. Operations covering Mexico and Canada were added later allowing for complete coverage throughout North America. International expansion plans are continuing with a presence in Asia Pacific anticipated very soon. Operations in Europe will follow shortly thereafter. A global presence will allow Heilind Electronics to provide a seamless supply chain across all continents. With a compounded annual growth rate of over 20%, it is easy to see how Heilind Electronics has become the largest Interconnect Specialty Distributor in North America. Today, the company continues to uphold the values it was founded on: focus on what you are the best at and always meet, or exceed, the customer's expectations.
